January is about right, LOL. I've been toying with the idea of buying a dmain, so bear with me. Most of what's on here is as is. You get what you pay for sort of thing (NOT that I'm complaining). As sson as I can find my mind, get my bearings (if they're not long gone) & get a clue, we'll discuss it more....

[image] OK - I obviously have nothing better to do today so I am writing this email to request the possibility of changing the layout of the web site pages.

Since there is the large logo at the top of the page and then the ads and then the shout box all in a row... every time I want to change pages I have to scroll down. Now being the busy (read: lazy) person that I am I am finding it inconvenient. I'm not sure if we all see the same thing since I am using Firefox and that sometimes makes a difference.

Could the shout box be moved to the side or is it fixed where it is?

Could the logo be made a little smaller?

So Miss Kayla when you have nothing to do - around January I presume could you look into this? :P

 Posting changes & requirements
« Result #3 on Apr 25, 2008, 12:11pm »

Due to the attempted joining by some spammers, we've instituted the following changes to our membership/posting policy. We've also had many memberships that were never activated. This clogs up the member list with members that are not participating in this community, even by "lurking." We feel that if someone doesn't activate their account, they are uninterested in being a part of Homeschool Moms for Christ. We apologise for the inconvenience the following may cause, but for the good of the group, we feel this must be. If for some reason you absolutely cannot post/participate within the following guidelines, please feel free to contact the administrator (put admin in the "to:" line). We can usually work with you.

Please activate your account within 2 weeks of joining. If you do not, your account will be deleted. You are welcome to join again, but be sure to activate your account. After 3 times of being deleted, you will not be able to join again for 1 year.

If you join & don't log in for 60 days, your account will be deleted. We don't mind those that read, but inactive accounts tie up our member list. That being said, forums survive based upon participation.

SPAM will not be tolerated. Your account will be deleted for posting SPAM. Once you are an established member of this community, you may certainly post advertisements for your site, business, business website or for things you are selling. If you post SPAM before becoming an established member, your account will be deleted. You will not have a second chance at joining.

Thank you for being a part of a wonderful community. Your participation makes this corner of the web survive!

 Thinking about HS'ing?
« Result #5 on Mar 6, 2008, 7:58am »

Or JUST starting? Maybe you're a little overwhelmed &/or confused.

Your very first stop should be the Homeschool Legal Defense Association. If you go here you can click on your state to find out your laws. If you have any issues with them, LMK & I can do my best to decipher it for you (there are many loopholes in so many of them!!). You can post here or pm me.

Check out your library as well, do a catalog search for homeschooling. You should find LOADS of books there. The Well-Trained Mind is a goodie that comes to mind.

One of the best sites I came across when I started HS'ing is A to Z Home's Cool. She warns you to make sure you have time to persuse the site- grab coffee & no interuptions & she is right. The site is MASSIVE!!!!!

Now I don't usually give this one, but I found You Can Homeschool as I was perusing the HSLDA site, and it looks interesting.

These are the sites I typically send aspiring HS familes to, so once you've had a chance to look them over & get a feel for, let us know any other questions or concerns you may have. Good luck & be sure to PRAY about this! It is a HUGE decision. If you've been feeling led, I believe that right there is the answer to your prayers.

Why isn't my name or password working?
« Result #6 on Jan 18, 2008, 6:10pm »

Be sure to check your email to get your assigned activation code upon registration! Once you have that and it is entered you are in!

We ask that you post within the first 3 days of registering and after that, at least once every month. If you try to sign in using the password you were given or chose OR the name you chose and still cannot get in, you may have been "clean sweeped."

If you are unable to post (going out of town, moving, going thru a tough time, etc., please pm one of the admin or mod members to let us know! We realise things come up unexpectedly. If you can't get back on and are unable to let us know (you're computer crashes, something unfortunate happens, etc.), just let us know when you get back. If by chance you were deleted whilst you were gone, we can reinstate your post count so as not to start from scratch all over again! Just reregister and let one of the admin or mods know!

 Copyright Infringement!!
« Result #7 on Jan 18, 2008, 6:07pm »

I have tried to get all my images, smilies, and avatars from reputable free ware sites. If you see an image that is stolen, pyrited, or credit is due, please pm or email me and I will do my best to find the original artist, give proper credit or have the image deleted!

I ask the same of you! No stolen or illegal images PLZ! NO HOTLINKING! Hotlinked images WILL BE DELETED!! And if you choose to share something from this site please give credit where credit is due!

We ask specifically not to use anyone's bandwith. If the graphic is being used somewhere else, save it to YOUR OWN space before posting it elsewhere.

THNX for your help in keeping a this a safe, legal and legit site!
